I have been to The Grill a few times in the last couple of years. I have had the lunch special, the pre-theater menu and the regular menu. Every single time the service and the food has been impeccable. On a recent visit we had 12 people pay separately (team lunch) during lunch rush hour on a Friday and the manager just smiled and made sure everyone was taken care of.
Simply put its a steakhouse however I have had the yellow fin tuna and the snapper and they were both fantastic. The bread that they serve is from my favorite bakery Olaf’s.
They have a lunch special sometimes which is from 12-2.30pm Monday-Friday which is $29 for a glass of wine, a sirloin steak with miso hollandaise sauce and duck fat chips. You can swap the sides if you like and they will definitely accommodate you but if you haven’t tried the duck fat chips you gotta try them as they are sinful.
The potato gratin, suckling pig fritter, the tongue, the curried mussels are a few things on the menu that you should not miss.
The desserts are quite yumm too. I have tried the Chocolate Valrhona and Crème caramel
Now for the cost…this is definitely not a cheap place but as a trial you could go in for a pre-theater menu which is gives a nice little taster of the kind of food they offer but not at a huge price.
And if you are wondering what to do for lunch walk down and have one of their lunch specials you won’t regret it.
